Why Decision-Making?
Decisions are how we exercise agency— the power to influence and shape what happens next.
For decades, groundbreaking research in behavioral economics, cognitive psychology, and decision analysis has unveiled powerful insights into how we make decisions—and more importantly, how we can make them better. The impact of these insights is far-reaching, influencing individual careers, organizational success, and even societal outcomes.
At the Decision Leadership Institute (DLI), we don’t just teach decision-making theory— we equip leaders with practical tools and frameworks to master the science of making smarter, faster decisions that drive long-term success.
Why Us?
Leaders today face unprecedented complexity and uncertainty.
DLI was founded by Joseph Sweeney, Ed.D., in response to the growing demand from CEOs, professionals, military leaders, and policymakers for practical, high-impact decision-making training. They’ve told us they need a trusted partner to help apply decision science in their organizations, empowering them to make decisions that drive long-term success.
While spearheading a national movement to raise awareness of decision science in K-12 education, Joe was repeatedly asked by leaders from across sectors to develop a solution for executives. They wanted to incorporate these game-changing insights into their own work to make better decisions and lead more effectively.
The Decision Leadership Institute was established to meet this need.
We are committed to being the partner that helps leaders transform their decision-making processes, cultivate rational thinking, and enhance their strategic impact.
